Strengthening Your Walk: Devotional Releases

February 5, 2016 - When you put enough minds together with a common purpose, you can end up with something like the upcoming daily devotional “Strengthening Your Walk.” The devotional will be available in time for the holidays. As a holiday offering, it can be given as a gift to someone, or purchased to provide a self-soothing experience to make the holidays less harried and challenging. Published by Revolutionary Disciples.com, this book is targeted for young adults with material for both men and women.

The people responsible for the content of this collaborative volume include Tabitha Vinson, Carla Gaskins, Stacie Harris, Elise Peeples, Venus Griffin, Phyllis Smart, Bernice Loman, Tamika and Mark Avery, Adrienne Goodlow, Teresa McKellar, Shayla Donaldson, Cynthia Perkins and  Avani_Meli. Some of the contributors met at the first conference for Revolutionary Christian Literary Conference in 2012. Others have been divinely grafted into the Revolutionary Disciples Media family.  Many have also produced books of their own.

Each month the reader of this God-inspired devotional will experience a different writer.  This variety of writers bring different points of view and diverse life experiences, all from a divine standpoint.

Through the journey of using this devotional, the contributors are hoping that readers will find the strength to keep seeking and cultivating that intimate relationship with God as a Heavenly Father. As they work through the seasons of life, in the pages of this book they are anticipated to be able to find strength to get up and fight each day and know that they are not walking the walk unaccompanied nor unaided.

Preordering will be available October 1 and on December 1, “Strengthening Your Walk,” will enter the marketplace.

Devotional for Incarcerated Men Releases in Time for Christmas

September 15, 2015 – Being behind bars and having an incarcerated experience in one’s past are experiences that are unequalled. That’s why Revolutionary Disciples Media is releasing a devotional targeting this population. The varied contributors share encouragement for living out the daily demands in a way that addresses the special circumstances as well as common experiences that the incarcerated encounter. Called “Straight, No Chaser: A Daily Devotional for Incarcerated Men Seeking Freedom,” this book will be available in time for the holidays on December 1, 2015.

Presently, confirmed authors include Angela Green Deloach, Ronald “Zion” Roseboro, Mark H. Stevens, K. L. Belvin, Yehoshua Moshe Brown, Angela Washington, Terrell K. Mercer, A.J. Trimble, Lafils Rivers, Kizzie Hogan, and Timothy W. Griffin, II. Each month readers will experience the special touch of a different writer.

The idea to create this devotional was borne from the notion that this population is underserved and their experiences with recidivism is high and steadily climbing. The organizer of this volume shared, “I have spoken with ex-offenders and other advocates who are fighting daily to make a difference.”

Many don’t have families or lose touch with them when they become incarcerated, the organizer pointed out. She advised that through these pages they will come to understand that someone cares, indicating that “This is our way to make a difference in someone's life.”

The book points the way to God as a key to triumphant daily living. As detailed by someone familiar with the book, readers will become more acquainted with the one who can alleviate their burdens, save them, and set them free.  It will also re-direct some of their thinking and training. “It’s not the system. It's not receiving forgiveness from those that they have wronged. It has to start with that deep and abiding love of the Father. That relationship has to be strengthened, in order for them to have a healthy life and healthy relationships.”

The collaborative project will take three months from start to finish. The book will be available for purchase at www.revolutionarydisciples.com.  Preordering is available.
